Frequent Questions – Iglesia Catolica Palmariana

Frequently Asked Questions

Who founded the One, Holy, Catholic, Apostolic and Palmarian Church?

Jesus Christ. The Palmarian Church is a continuation of the Church founded by Jesus Christ on Calvary. See Hallmarks of the True Church.

How is your Church related to Catholicism?

The Palmarian Church is the Catholic Church of all times.

What links do you have with the Vatican and the roman church?

Absolutely none. The roman church apostatized from Catholicism, dragging with it the vast majority of Catholics from around the world. In some cases these apostasies were out of ignorance but for the most part they were out of indifference and in many cases out of convenience, a lukewarm form of complicity.

What is it that makes it the true one?  Or is it just yourselves who say that?

Pope Saint Gregory XVII was directly elected by Our Lord Jesus Christ on the same day of the death of Pope Saint Paul VI.  The account of this election and the explanation of its vital need can be found on the website.  It was no longer possible for the college of cardinals in Rome to elect an authentic Pope, but a month later, when the true successor was already elected, they elected antipope John Paul I.  Read more: Pope Saint Gregory XVII.

Do not forget the vital importance of this issue.  It is not a question of schism, protest, different doctrinal tendencies, in which people can continue to receive the Sacraments validly.  The Church, when Rome apostatized in 1978, remains in El Palmar de Troya in the Palmarian Church.  And Saint Gregory XVII declared the total break with Rome on September 8, 1978, a little more than a month after his election, to safeguard the true Church, the Palmarian, from the appalling corruption of Rome.  Now in Rome there are no Sacraments, no Sacramentals, no life of Grace, no Holy Eucharist with the Real Presence of Our Lord Jesus Christ, not even the images represent those they are supposed to.  It is very serious.

What was Rome’s apostasy?

The root of Rome’s apostasy was the rejection of heavenly Messages.  Especially in Europe there were many places of apparitions, all saying the same doctrine: that one cannot receive Holy Communion in the hand or standing, that the ‘novus ordo’ is invalid, because in the offertory ‘the work of man’ is offered, when in the valid Offertory is offered, in advance, ‘the Immaculate Victim’, who will come at the Consecration, if it is a valid Mass.

What a scandal, that so many legions of Roman priests ignore the voice of their Lord!  The same Lord who gives the Message, at the same time gives light and grace to believe it and accept it with firmness.  If the Lord gives a Message, is it a joke?  Is it to be taken lightly, with indifference, with rejection?  Instead, should it not be accepted with much love, with great interest, with great reverence, because it is for the good of souls; it is the Invisible Head of the Church complementing the direction given by the Hierarchy of the Church?  Therefore, those who reject the Messages reject at the same time the infallible doctrine: ‘Christ, Invisible Head of the Church’, who can intervene in the government of the Church whenever He wishes, as He wishes and through whom He wishes.

Is it really possible that the roman church has apostatized?  What about Christ’s promise “The gates of Hell shall not prevail against Her”?

First of all, it has long been prophesied that the Church would suffer a general apostasy (which was fulfilled in 1978) without any theologian objecting to that prophecy.  Secondly, Christ’s promise to remain with his Church until the end of time was not tied to any particular See.  In fact, the Church has had various Sees in its history, first in Jerusalem, then briefly in Antioch, after that in Rome, and now following the apostasy of the roman hierarchy it has its See in El Palmar de Troya, Seville, Spain, where it resists Hell’s most furious onslaughts without giving in, thanks to the assistance of Christ and Mary.

So, since when has this Church existed?  Where is its line of succession?  Convince me that it is the true Church of Christ.

This Church exists from the beginning of Creation, and came out cleansed and renewed from the Right Side of Jesus on Calvary, and has now been renewed and purified by the transfer of the Apostolic See from Rome to Palmar de Troya.  The line of succession is well documented on the internet.

The Palmarian Church preaches the same thing as Saint John the Baptist, which is the same thing that Our Lord Jesus Christ preached.  Saint John the Baptist: “God is powerful, and if you do penance, He will make your hardened hearts become those of true sons of Abraham in the order of Grace.  Because the axe is now set to the root of the trees; and every tree that does not yield good fruit shall be cut down and cast into the eternal fire”.  The axe has already cut off the root of the trees with the election of Saint Gregory XVII the Very Great, and the roman church is dry and barren now forever.  As John the Baptist who preached penance was then imprisoned, Jesus stressed even more strongly the need for it.  So He began to preach the Gospel of the Kingdom of God, saying: “The time has come and the Kingdom of God is near.  Do penance and believe in the Gospel”.

When and how was your Church formed?

El Palmar, during the early years, was part of the then Roman Church, not yet apostate.  When the roman church apostatized, by electing and following its first antipope in September 1978, the Church faithful to Christ continued in El Palmar, under the rule of the true Pope, Saint Gregory XVII, who had already been elected Pope directly by the Lord on 6th August 1978.

What are the differences between the Palmarian Church and the Catholic Church, and the links between both?

The Palmarian Church is the Catholic Church, there is no other.  Rome has apostatized massively, and it has become an anti-church, ruled by antipopes. There can be no relationship between the True Church and a satanic anti-church.

What has happened in our times is only comparable with what happened to the jewish Church in the time of Christ.  Christ made a call three times to the levitical hierarchy to follow Him, giving proof of his divinity, and He was rejected.  Therefore, after Calvary the jewish church was apostate, while the True Church went ahead with Saint Peter I, the first Pope, at the head.

Excuse me, when was this Church born?

On Calvary, when the Right Side of Jesus was pierced, at his death on the Cross.

Since the direct election of Saint Gregory XVII, the Church, now Palmarian, has been entirely reformed, especially by the two Palmarian Ecumenical Councils.  Many incorrect teachings (non-dogmatic, of course) have been rectified.  Many manipulated biblical texts have been corrected.  The Church, which previously had no complete dogmatic doctrine, now has it.  The discipline of the Church has been restored.  There is no longer any privilege over priestly celibacy.  There are no longer secular Priests; instead they are all religious, as in the case of his Apostles in accordance with the institution of the Priesthood by Christ at the Last Supper, for we now know that they were all religious.

Why do you say that your Pope is the true one?

Palmar has always been guided by the Messages from Heaven.  Therefore, those in the roman church are woefully lost by rejecting the Voice of Heaven.  Now the Messages of Palmar that we have published are dogmatic, so declared by the Church.  That is, they cannot be disputed.  And the Messages describe the whole course of the formation, preparation, ordination and consecration, as well as the papal election of Saint Gregory XVII the Very Great, the first Pope in Palmar de Troya.  They also speak of the extreme necessity of this election, and how it was necessary to form the Episcopal College in Palmar.  You will find a lot about these topics on our website.

What makes the Palmarian Pope the true one?

His direct election by Our Lord Jesus Christ on the 6th of August 1978.  The account of this election and the explanation of its vital need can be found on the Web page: Where is the true Church?

To which Apostle is that Pope the successor?

Saint Paul VI, the last Pope in Rome, had as his legitimate successor Saint Gregory XVII the Very Great, first Pope in Palmar, who had as his successor Saint Peter II the Great, second Pope in Palmar, who had as successor the apostate Pope Gregory XVIII, third Pope in Palmar, who had as successor the current Pope, Peter III, fourth Pope in Palmar.  All the Popes are successors of the Apostle Saint Peter I, the First Pope, directly elected by Our Lord Jesus Christ in his Apparition on the shores of the Sea of Galilee on 10th April in the year 34 of the Christian era, when He said three times: “Shepherd my sheep”.

When conferring the papacy on Saint Gregory XVII, Christ said to him three times: “Shepherd my sheep”.  This divine mandate to continue the Church in Palmar entails responsibility for all mankind, because all those who wish to be saved must seek light and guidance in the Palmarian Church, since there is no salvation possible outside of Her.

And where does his apostolic succession come from?

The apostolic succession in El Palmar comes from the Vietnamese Archbishop Ngô-dinh Thuc, who ordained and consecrated Clemente Domínguez y Gómez in January 1976, having full powers to do so.  The papal election of Clemente Domínguez y Gómez, then called Father Ferdinand Mary as founder of the Order of the Carmelites of the Holy Face, was carried out directly by Our Lord Jesus Christ who, as the Son of God, has power to do so, and who also gave him the name of Gregory XVII.  Read more: The Ordinations and Consecrations in Palmar de Troya.

How many Popes have there been in El Palmar de Troya?

Four in total, including the Pope happily reigning, Peter III.

Are there important or well-known people that became part of the Order of the Carmelites of the Holy Face?

Please read: Important People in the History of the Palmarian Church. On this page you can read about many priests and nuns who left the corrupt roman church to go to El Palmar.

How is it possible for the True Catholic Church to be unknown by the vast majority of the world’s population?

It’s not the first time it has occurred; in the early days it was even mistaken for and treated as just another Jewish sect.  At the same time it suffered a bloody persecution forcing it into the precarious security of the catacombs.  Centuries later, during the Western Schism, there were doubts even among the Saints themselves as to who the true Pope was.

How should you distinguish then the True Catholic Church?

Christ left us the best counsel: “By their fruits you shall know them”.  Observe the doctrinal confusion and moral cowardice in which the roman hierarchy are stumbling about in the face of corruption on all levels, while having at their disposal the most efficacious means to make their voice resound to the ends of the earth, and consider then whether they can be true shepherds of God’s people.  On the other hand, read and listen to the strong, clear voice of His Holiness Pope Peter III in Palmar de Troya, his zeal for Doctrine and Morals, his devotion to his faithful children and then, draw your own conclusions.

What links do you have with the so-called “traditionalists”?

None whatsoever.  Although we uphold, defend and practice Traditional Doctrine and the Dogmas defined by the Popes throughout history, we do not take the easy position of “freezing” the Church at a particular historical moment without making definitions in relation to the apostate Roman hierarchy.  Moreover, the palmarian Popes have enriched the Treasury of Divine Revelation with numerous dogmas, masterful explanations and doctrinal developments.

How do you support yourselves economically?

With the faithful’s alms and donations.  The One, Holy, Catholic, Apostolic and Palmarian Church does not receive money from the State nor does it sell its publications.  All the Sacraments as well as Bibles, prayer books, scapulars etc., are distributed free of charge.

What types of worship do you have?

Firstly there is the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass with its three essential parts: Offertory, Consecration and Sacrificial Communion.  The faithful who attend Mass in the state of Grace can receive Holy Communion, kneeling and on the tongue.

The seven Sacraments are also administered: Baptism, Confirmation, Confession, Communion, Extreme Unction, Priestly Orders and Matrimony.

There are numerous prayers but the foremost one is the Holy Penitential Rosary, composed of 50 complete Our Fathers (each one comprising an Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory be and Hail Mary Most Pure).

Furthermore, magnificent and solemn Processions take place at the Holy See during the pilgrimages every year.  The Eucharistic Procession takes place daily.

Is it possible for those who are not Palmarian to attend the worship?

Yes, as long as respect is shown and the requirements for dress are met.  See the Norms of Palmarian Christian Decency.

What would be the first step to become a member of the One, Holy, Catholic, Apostolic and Palmarian Church?

Send an email to the Holy Palmarian See, ocsficp@gmail.com.  It would also be worth reading the Norms of Palmarian Christian Decency in order to enter the Church grounds in Palmar de Troya.

I like everything but what assurance do I have that the Palmarian Church is the True Church?

This assurance is received directly from Heaven, but in order to receive it you have to do your part.  For a start, you would need to pray the Holy Penitential Rosary every day.  See Penitential Rosary.

What are the most difficult norms to keep?

With the help of God and His Most Holy Mother nothing is too difficult.  However Christ puts us to the test many times to see how much we are prepared to suffer in this life for love of Him. “Whoever has My Commandments and keeps them, is one who loves Me.  Whoever loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to Him, dwelling in his soul.

What if my family is against it?

God comes first.  We must love God above all things.  That is how Jesus taught us in the Gospel: “Whoever loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me; whoever loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me.  Whoever does not take up his cross and follow Me is not worthy of Me.  Whoever, at the cost of losing his soul keeps his life, will lose eternal life; and whoever loses his life for love of Me, shall find it again in Heaven.

What about the sufferings caused by the incomprehension of others?

We must accept them with Christian resignation.  We must remember the words of Christ: “Come to Me all you who are weary and are burdened, and I will relieve you.  Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, who am meek and humble of heart, and you shall find rest for your souls.  For My yoke is sweet and My burden light.
